Driving over 15,000 km across Canada in a 1990 Accord, Shout Out! Media organized and facilitated 15 media literacy and media production workshops for young women, non-binary, and trans folks aged 12-17. Jessie Curell, Amy Siegel, and I met with Canadian youth of all different backgrounds and experiences and encouraged them to tell their own stories through movie-making, photography, and collage. Shout Out! happened in Victoria, Vancouver, Stoney, Calgary, Saskatoon, Onion Lake, Winnipeg, Sioux Lookout, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, St. John’s, Charlottetown, Sackville, and Halifax with additional stops in Golden, Sundre, Castor, Regina, Beausejour, Trinity, and Sappyfest.
